How you can enjoy Easter without ruining your weight loss

With Easter just around the corner, we’ve only got one thing on our mind-chocolate! But what if you wanted to keep making healthier choices this Easter? Fear not – we’ve put together some recipes and tips so you can enjoy this weekend without the overindulgence – say hello to exante’s Guide to Easter 2022

We understand this time of year can get tricky when it comes to temptation and resisting, thanks to the Easter Bunny and so much chocolate!

However you approach this weekend, be sure to enjoy yourself. Life is there to be enjoyed, so make sure to enjoy all the treats you want over the coming days.

The important thing to remember is not to punish yourself or allow in guilty and negative thoughts. It’s ok to allow yourself measured treats, exante is here to help you get back on track whenever you’re ready. To enjoy Easter totally guilt-free, check out our egg-cellent top tips…

  • Planning is key – planning your meals ahead of time will make it easier to keep your food intake under control. Opt for meals and snacks that are rich in protein and vegetables so you’re still consuming the nutrients you need.
  • Be Portion-wise – Guess what? You can still enjoy chocolate ‘on-plan’ by ensuring you count the calories! Portion your desired chocolate by weight and calculate the calories based on the packet information. If you know how many calories you are consuming, this will be a lot easier to track. Choose smaller, individually wrapped treats to make the calorie counting even easier.
  • Stay active – If you know you are going to be enjoying a few Easter treats, you may want to do some more exercise. How about a hike, or an Easter Egg Hunt in the garden for the whole family to enjoy? Activity doesn’t have to be strenuous, but light movement and being on your feet will always help.
  • Choose one day – If you know there will be lots of temptation during the bank holiday weekend, limit yourself to just one day. Steer clear of the temptation on the days surrounding Easter Sunday, but allow yourself to enjoy the big day.

Want to enjoy the chocolate treats but sticking to a calorie deficit? Ty our favourite low calorie Chocolate Easter Mousse- the perfect Easter treat!

What you’ll need

  • Chocolate shake
  • A splash water or milk
  • 2 egg whites
  • Your favourite Easter chocolate to top- we used chocolate eggs
Method
  1. Whisk your Chocolate shake with a splash of water or milk
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk your egg whites until soft peaks form
  3. Add your chocolate mixture to the egg whites and combine
  4. Leave to set in the refrigerator
  5. Once set, top with your Easter chocolate and enjoy!

What you’ll need
  • 1 scoop exante Vanilla Shake or Salted Caramel flavour – it’s all up to you
  •  2 cups oats
  •  1 tsp baking powder
  •  2 tsp cinnamon
  •  1/2 cup mixed fruit
  •  2/3 cup unsweetened apple sauce
  •  2 eggs
  •  1 cup milk of your choice
Method
  1. Mix all your ingredients together
  2. Add the mixture to muffin cases
  3. Bake in the oven at 350F for 20-25 minutes
